Determination of optimal angiographic viewing angles for QCA
نویسندگان
چکیده
Important parameters in quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) are the severity and length of the lesion, the radius of the nonstenotic part of the affected vessel segment and the bifurcation angle (in the case of a bifurcation lesion). Unfortunately, QCA results can be influenced by the viewing angles corresponding to the angiographic images used to perform the QCA. To deal with this viewpoint dependency, computer systems have been developed which determine the optimal angiographic viewing angles (the best possible viewing angles to perform QCA) using a threedimensional (3-D) reconstruction of the coronary arteries. In this paper, a method is presented to determine the optimal viewing angles in a very fast and robust way, without the need of a 3-D reconstruction.Validation using images of phantoms and clinical images proves its accuracy. A study of operators’ computing efficiency with special focus on the readability under different viewing angles of a desktop
The main objective of this work is to determine the reading performance of operators’ under different viewing angles of a desktop computer. The effects of text/background color, viewing distance and character size on the speed of reading were investigated. The text and/or the background color combination were varied, with constant luminance contrast. Performance was recorded in terms of words p...
متن کاملInter-core lab variability in analyzing quantitative coronary angiography for bifurcation lesions: a post-hoc analysis of a randomized trial.
OBJECTIVES This study sought to evaluate inter-core lab variability in quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) analysis of bifurcation lesions. BACKGROUND QCA of bifurcation lesions is challenging. To date there are no data available on the inter-core lab variability of bifurcation QCA analysis. METHODS The randomized Tryton IDE (Tryton Pivotal IDE Coronary Bifurcation Trial) compared the T...
متن کاملComparison of intravascular ultrasound and quantitative coronary angiography for the assessment of coronary artery disease progression.
BACKGROUND The relative merits of quantitative coronary analysis (QCA) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) for the assessment of progression/regression in coronary artery disease are uncertain. To explore this subject further, we analyzed the angiographic and IVUS data derived from a contemporary clinical trial population. METHODS AND RESULTS We investigated the relationships between QCA and ...

The Cholesterol Lowering Atherosclerosis Study, a randomized angiographic clinical trial, demonstrated the beneficial effect of niacin/colestipol plus diet therapy on coronary atherosclerosis. Outcome was determined by panel-based estimates (viewed in both still and cine modes) of percent stenosis severity and change in native artery and bypass graft lesions. Computer-based quantitative coronar...

OBJECTIVES This study sought to evaluate the clinical, procedural, preinterventional and postinterventional quantitative coronary angiographic (QCA) and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) predictors of restenosis after Palmaz-Schatz stent placement. BACKGROUND Although Palmaz-Schatz stent placement reduces restenosis compared with balloon angioplasty, in-stent restenosis remains a major clinical...
